The Governor of Cabo Delgado, Valige Tauabo, has officially opened a pedestrian bridge in the Maganja community, Administrative Post of Palma Sede.
The infrastructure was built with financial support from TotalEnergies, and aims to facilitate the movement of goods and people between the mainland and the islands of the District of Palma.
Speaking after delivering the infrastructure to the people of Maganja, Governor Tauabo explained that the construction of the bridge came in response to the needs of the population, and would minimise the inconvenience they had previously endured.
The bridge, built with protective safety barriers, is 150 metres long and 2.7 metres wide, and has an expected service life of 15 years.
In order to conserve the infrastructure, the governor urged the population to scrupulously observe maximum load limits and avoid uncontrolled fires in the vicinity, since the bridge is made of wood.
