The Institute for Multiparty Democracy (IMD), in partnership with the Ministry of Justice, Constitutional and Religious Affairs (MJCR), today pays tribute to Brazão Mazula for his contribution to strengthening democracy in Mozambique.
During the event’s opening speech at the UEM, the Inspector of the Ministry of Justice, Constitutional and Religious Affairs, Jorge Ferreira, representing the Minister of Justice, Constitutional and Religious Affairs, Helena Kida, recognised Brazão Mazula’s unique contribution to the country’s development.
“Brazão Mazula is the patriot who accepted the burden of leading the country’s first electorl process, through the National Elections Commission,” Jorge Ferreira said.
In the course of his career, Mazula has published multiple reference books for the governance process in the country.
In a documentary film shown at the event, Dom Dinis Sengulane says that “Professor Mazula’s serenity, wisdom and humility contributed to the process of moving forward with all on track.
This is the first of a cycle of tributes that the IMD will make this year, in recognition of the contribution of different political, economic, social and academic actors to the development of the country.
