Spain's Barceló Group studies investment opportunities in Mozambique

Mozambique is participating in the 25th meeting of the Tourism Working Group of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation(COMCEC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which began in Ankara, Turkey this Monday (15-09).
The two-day meeting will discuss, among other things, the tourism development programs and other projects of member countries and the organization’s action plans for the coming years.
Mozambique will be represented by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Fredson Bakar, who outlined the country’s expectations for the COMICEC meeting while on a a visit to Johannesburg.
Mozambique’s intervention in Turkey is expected to emphasize, among other aspects, the importance of cultural heritage for tourism, addressing aspects such as local identity, preservation, economic sustainability, authenticity and education.
For Mozambique, the preservation of historical heritage is a global concern of the utmost importance to safeguarding a society’s history and culture.
The meeting in Ankara is being held this Monday and Tuesday under the motto: “Improving the Quality and Sustainability of Heritage Tourism in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Countries.”
