Mozambique: Chapo urges national dialogue for peace

Clementina Francisco Bomba, a member of the Mozambique parliament, is the new secretary-general of the main opposition party, Renamo, it announced on Tuesday.
The new official was appointed on Monday night at a meeting of the party’s National Council in Maputo. It is the first time that a woman has held the post.
She replaces André Magibire, who stepped down in September.
The party’s president, Ossufo Momade, said that he hoped the new secrtary-general would be able to “implement our aspirations in an exemplary way, through strategies that are consistent with the challenges.”
Bomba, who was also the party’s provincial delegate in Maputo, called for teamwork from colleagues, stressing that “the work of each one is decisive to achieve victory.”
