The requirements for opening micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Mozambique in the sectors of agriculture, animal production, hunting, forestry, fishing, manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade, maintenance and repair of cars and motorcycles, consultancy, administrative activities or other commercial services has been simplified to “Mere Prior Communication”.
In yet another Economy Acceleration Package (PAE) measure, the government of Filipe Nyusi is simplifying the opening of new companies to a declaration by the entrepreneur on the appropriate form, accompanied by the documents required by law and upon payment of legally defined fees.
To be issued in just one day at any Single Service Desk (BAU), the Certificate of Mere Prior Communication, with the same value as a licence or permit, will be valid for three years for opening companies in almost all sectors of activity.
