Mozambique: Justice sector raises concern over cases of incest - Notícias

The Mozambican health authorities on Monday reported only three new cases of the Covid-19 respiratory disease and four recoveries.
According to a Monday press release from the Ministry of Health, the three new cases were all Mozambican nationals aged between nine and 42 years. Two were men and one was a woman. Two were from Maputo city and one was from Nampula. No positive cases were reported from any of the other nine provinces.
Since the start of the pandemic, 1,379,771 people have been tested in Mozambique for the coronavirus that causes Covid-19, 113 of them in the previous 24 hours. 110 of these tests yielded negative results, and the three who tested positive raised the total number of positive cases diagnosed in Mozambique to 230,004.
The positivity rate (the percentage of those tested found to be carrying the coronavirus) fell from 4.13 per cent on Sunday to 2.65 per cent on Monday.
One Covid-19 patient was discharged from hospital in Gaza on Monday, and no new cases were admitted. The number of patients undergoing medical care in the Covid-19 wards fell from 13 on Sunday to 12 on Monday. Five of these patients were in Niassa, four in Maputo, two in Gaza and one in Zambezia. Five of these patients were in intensive care, receiving supplementary oxygen.
The Ministry release reported no further deaths from Covid-19 on Monday. The total Covid-19 death toll in Mozambique thus remained 2,119.
Of the four recoveries reported, three were from Nampula and one from Maputo province. The total number of recoveries now stands at 227,558, which is 98.94 per cent of all Covid-19 cases ever diagnosed in Mozambique.
The number of active cases of Covid-19 fell slightly from 224 on Sunday to 223 on Monday. The geographical distribution of the active cases was as follows: Maputo city, 40; Zambezia, 36; Tete, 32; Niassa, 31; Gaza, 24; Cabo Delgado, 20; Nampula, 18; Sofala, 14; Inhambane, five; nd Manica, three. Maputo province was the only province with no active cases,
The Ministry press release also reported that a further 476 people were vaccinated against Covid-19 on Monday. The total number fully vaccinated against the disease now stands at 14,662,358, which is 96.4 per cent of all citizens aged 18 and above.
