Mozambique: Court upholds request to halt second round of elections in Podemos

Directing the opening ceremony of the 21st Coordinating Council of the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) at the Academy of Police Sciences in Maputo province this Monday morning (03-05), President Filipe Nyusi reminded the police that the people urgently needed to see terrorism eradicated and kidnapping cases cleared up.
“The people look at this meeting as an opportunity to evaluate your work in all aspects, with a view to the urgent eradication of terrorism, organised crime and frequent abductions in the national territory,” he said.
The head of state also spoke about the PRM’s responsibility to ensure public order and tranquillity.
The 21st PRM Council takes place under the motto: “Concentrating strategies to guarantee order, security and public tranquillity. Combating terrorism in the context of public disasters.”
