Bank of Mozambique warns of Increased exposure of banks to public debt

The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, will participate from April 16 to 18, 2024, in the International Conference on Sustainable and Integrated Management of the Miombo Forest, an event organized by the Mozambican government with the support of the International Conservation Biodiversity Foundation (ICCF), Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), and Rainforest Trust.
The Presidency of the Republic explains in a statement that the “Conference aims to promote investment opportunities within the framework of the implementation of the Maputo Declaration on Miombo, aiming to achieve goals on climate change, biodiversity conservation, and integrated sustainable development.”
The Miombo Forest is important for maintaining the Zambezi basin, a region rich in biodiversity in its protected areas with enormous potential for developing a nature-based economy.
Representatives of Heads of State from the signatory countries of the Maputo Declaration, members of the US Congress and African parliaments, international financial institutions, private sector leaders, partners of international conservation agencies, philanthropists, environmental experts, and community leaders from the provinces of Niassa, Zambézia, and Inhambane are participating in the event.
