Mozambique: Security forces disperse protesters shouting 'Mondlane'

Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi on Friday extended his condolences to King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
In his message, Nyusi states that it was with deep sorrow he learned the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, on Thursday, at Balmoral Castle.
‘Her Majesty’s loyalty and sense of mission to her country and the world is a cause for admiration. She embodied the discreet strength that the world has been fortunate to witness over decades”, reads the message.
As we mourn the death of a stateswoman and a Sovereign who endured and devoted her entire life to the service of the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and the world, with unparalleled dedication, dignity, humility and passion, we would like to convey the solidarity of the Mozambican people who respected and cherished Her Majesty for everything she did to strengthen the relations of friendship, solidarity and cooperation that prevail between Mozambique and Great Britain, as well as with the Commonwealth,’ adds the message from the President of the Republic.
Nyusi notes that during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II Mozambique enjoyed very good relations with the United Kingdom, and joined the Commonwealth as a full member.
‘On behalf of the people, the Government of the Republic of Mozambique and in my own, I would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to His Majesty King Charles III and the royal family, the people and Government of the United Kingdom and the entire Commonwealth for the irreparable loss of Her Majesty.
We share your loss and grief. Therefore, we will forever miss Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and our prayers and thoughts are with you. May Her legacy inspire all of us in the Commonwealth and the World at large to build a more just, prosperous and united societies.
