Mozambique: Attacks, fear leave village of 11,000 deserted

In the past 24 hours, the Mozambican health authorities have not registered new cases of COVID-19, Owhich remain at 20, País reports.
All of the 14 suspected cases tested in the last 24 hours turned out negative for Covid-19.
With the data announced today, Mozambique remains at 20 confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 12 are locally transmitted and eight are imported. Of the 20 positive cases, two are fully recovered.
In order to contain the transmission chain, the Deputy General Director of the National Institute of Health, Eduardo Samo Gudo Junior, ensures that the sector continues to monitor all contacts of the patient who travelled from Cabo Delgado to Maputo province.
Samo Gudo, said that two teams have been dispatched to Cabo Delgado to trace the possible contacts of the three new positive cases detected on Friday. One team will work in the city of Pemba, with two cases, and another at Total’s camp in Anfugi, with one case.
On the same occasion, the Ministry of Health (MISAU) launched two new platforms to assist the official website of Covid-19 in Mozambique FICA ATENTO, located in the website www.covid19.ins.gov.mz , in providing information about the pandemic in Mozambique.
They are: “Fica Atento” on a more interactive basis that runs on WhatsApp and a digital tool for Self-assessment of Risk of contamination by Covid-19, which works in a Web environment.

The self-assessment platform is available through: riscocovid19.misau.gov.mz
According to INS director general Rosa Marlene, the data generated by the self-assessment platform will support MISAU in better guiding the response to Covid-19, namly be enabling a better forecast of areas at risk of contamination by the pandemic in the country.
Covid-19’s self-assessment tool is integrated into the “FICA ATENTO” website, as well as on the WhatsApp’s “FICA ATENTO” platform.
The National Institute of Health reiterates the call for the strengthening of preventive measures against COVID-19, which has already killed thousands of people worldwide.
