The Education Sector in Niassa will hire 650 new teachers for the 2021 academic year, Radio Mozambique reports.
Of these, more than 600 will be primary education teachers, and 47 will teach in secondary schools.
The figure represents a 100% increase compared to 2020, when just over 200 teachers were hired.
Next year, 1.1 million free primary education textbooks will be distributed, against one million this year.
The figures appear in the Provincial Executive Council Plan for 2021, approved recently at the second ordinary session of the Provincial Assembly of Niassa.
