The Combatants Secord in Niassa province is working on the signage and requalification of historical sites, as part of their maintenance and preservation.
Currently, the province of Niassa has 252 historical sites of which only 80 are signposted and used. Sixteen bases, four mass graves, five pilot centres, one kindergarten and five monuments are of particular significance.
The director of the Provincial Combatants Services in Niassa, Mariamo José, said that the aim was to preserve these sites and ensure the transmission of their values to new generations.
The requalification of some historical sites in Niassa is being carried out in collaboration with local veterans of the national liberation struggle and historians.
