New toll rates distributed across the provinces of Gaza, Inhambane, Manica, Sofala, Zambézia, Tete, Nampula, Cabo Delgado and Niassa will take effect from 2 January.
The National Road Administration (ANE) states in a communique released yesterday that the ntroduction of the new toll rates aims to enable the Self-Sustained Road Maintenance Program (PROASME), approved this year to promote the preservation of the investment made in roads through revenue collection, on about 3800 kilometres of roads.
ANE reports that the approval of PROASME also included the changing of eight bridge tolls to road tolls in: Lúrio, in Cabo Delgado; Ligonha, in Nampula; Licungo, in Zambézia; Púnguè Sul and Lucite, in Manica; Save, in Inhambane; Guijá and Xai-Xai, in Gaza.
To qualify for the special toll tariff for residents, which include passenger vehicles, a request must be filed in the provincial delegations of the Road Fund, with all the relevant documentation., adds the ANE communique.
