The Maputo Sul state-owned company that manages the bridge that will link Mozambique’s capital to the south bank of the bay (Katembe) said on Wednesday that the toll charges would be cheaper than the current ferry charges.
“The government expects the toll to be cheaper than what we are paying at the moment on the ferry, the company’s chairman, Mr Silva Magaia, told the press.
“These tariffs will not be punishing for the users”, he said though the actual price to cross the new bridge has not yet been announced.
The bridge is finished and the road has been surfaced, but there are still some works to be concluded.
