Twenty-four newly graduated Mozambican engineers departed this month for Italy, where they will undergo technical training at the “Eni Corporate University” for four months.
According to data shared by Noticias, this training is part of a broader two-year program implemented under the local content development and nationalization plan of the Coral Sul FLNG Project.
“It is noteworthy that this is the second edition of a training program that began in 2019, benefiting 32 graduates in its first phase who are now part of the Coral FLNG SA staff,” stated Eni Corporate University.
A note from Eni Corporate further mentioned that the 24 candidates were selected from a pool of 300 recent graduates from higher education institutions in Maputo and Pemba. The rigorous selection process assessed various criteria, including academic excellence, and is a result of the existing cooperation with Mozambican universities.
“The subsequent phase, taking place in Italy, will cover areas such as Health and Safety, Maritime/Naval, Maintenance, Technical and Laboratory Services. This will be followed by on-the-job training, with the expectation that the graduates will eventually integrate into the Maintenance, Production, Laboratory, Assets, and Asset Integrity departments at the Coral Sul FLNG facility located in the basin,” Eni stated.
