President Filipe Nyusi this Thursday announced the new government composition after the dismissals made public yesterday and this morning.
Former Minister of Economy and Finance Adriano Afonso Maleiane was appointed Prime Minister. He replaces Carlos Agostinho do Rosário.
Former Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy Ernesto Max Elias Tonela was appointed Minister of Economy and Finance. He replaces Adriano Maleiane.
Former Minister of Trade and Commerce Carlos Alberto Fortes Mesquita has been appointed to the post of Minister of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources. He replaces Joao Osvaldo Machatine.
Former Deputy Minister of Health Lídia da Graça Cardoso was appointed Minister of the Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries. She replaces Augusta Maíta.
Former Chairman of the INP – National Petroleum Institute Carlos Joaquim Zacarias was appointed Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy. He replaces Max Tonela.
Silvino Augusto José Moreno was appointed Minister of Industry and Commerce. He replaces Carlos Mesquita.
Amílcar Paia Tivane has been appointed Deputy Minister of Economy.
No new Deputy Minister of Health – to replace the vacancy left by the now Minister of the Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries Lidia Cardoso – had been appointed yet, at the time of writing.
