Mozambique: Mondlane denies breaking the law, accuses PGR of being 'politicized'

The government has appointed Tuaha Chabane Mote Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Institute of Communications of Mozambique (INCM), replacing Américo Muchanga in the post. The decision was announced this Tuesday by spokesperson Filimão Suaze, following the 31st ordinary session of the Council of Ministers.
During the usual briefing to journalists, Filimão Suaze also announced the appointment of Chinguane Sebastião Marcos Mabote to the position of Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the National Institute of Road Transport (INATRO), and of Tánia Vuyeya Sitoe as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Medicines Regulatory Authority (ARM).
Twenty days after the approval of new minimum wages, the executive decided to change the salaries of members of the Police of the Republic, the Armed Forces, the National Migration Service and the National Penitentiary Service, having considered and approved the decrees to that effect.
“… [the decrees] change the amount of the index 100 of the Salary Chart of the Members of the Police of Mozambique (PRM); of the index 100 of the Salary Chart of Members of the Armed Forces of Mozambique (FADM); of index 100 of the Salary Chart of the members of the National Migration Service (SENAMI); and of the index 100 of the Salary Chart of the members of the National Penitentiary Service (SERNAP),” Suaze explained.
Also at this Tuesday’s session, the Council of Ministers assessed information on the reconstruction plan for areas of Cabo Delgado affected by terrorism and the mechanisms for its implementation; assessment and perspectives on the application of measures to contain COVID-19; and the preparation for Mozambique’s participation in Expo-Dubai 2020, to take place from September 30, 2021 to March 31, 2022.
Mozambique’s participation in this last event, with a highlight on the performing arts, is scheduled for February 7, 2022.
