Just four months after its inauguration, the bridge over the Revúbuè river is already showing anomalies on the edges of the slab used to support the subfloors in the infrastructure.
The new bridge was inaugurated on October 3 last year by then-president Filipe Nyusi, replacing the old one that collapsed during Storm Ana in 2022.
National Roads Administration (ANE) delegate in Tete province Victor Maicolo says he is aware of the problem, but promises that the visible defects do not affect the structure of the bridge or pose any danger.
Notwithstanding, Maicolo guarantees that the bridge contractor is already mobilizing material to repair the damaged elements.
