In Niassa, close to 80 healthcare professionals from various specialties and support staff will ensure public service at Lichinga Provincial Hospital during the New Year festivities.
As part of the preparations to address potential emergencies during the year-end transition, the health sector has strengthened medication stocks in the province’s main referral hospitals, particularly in Cuamba, Mandimba, Marrupa, and Lichinga.
Niassa’s Provincial Chief Medical Officer, Narciso Rondinho, stated that the province has 190 units of blood, which is sufficient to meet the demands of the festive period.
“Although we have enough blood to meet the needs, we continue to appeal to all individuals of goodwill to come forward,” he said.
