The National Reconstruction Tax (IRN) has increased in 17 districts of four provinces of Mozambique. The biggest increase occurred in a district of Sofala province, where the IRN rate doubled. In one district of Maputo province, the rate fell.
Through Ministerial Diploma Number 20/2023 of January 24, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Ernesto Max Tonela, decided to review and raise the IRN rate for the year 2023 in some districts of the provinces of Maputo, Gaza, Sofala, Tete.
The @Verdade newspaper has learned that the IRN has increased again in the districts of Boane, Magude, Matutuíne, Namaacha, Xai-Xai, Chibuto.
The IRN rate, which did not change in 2022, also rose in the districts of Chókwe, Chongoene, Limpopo, Marromeu, Macossa, Chifunde, Mágoe, Maravia, Marara, Moatize and Chemba.
Strangely, in the district of Chemba the increase was 100%, while in the District of Marracuene the IRN rate fell.
