Mozambique: Opening of the "Crescente Collection" 2025 Exhibition

The Bank of Mozambique has officially delivered 2,000 copies of struggle veteran Sérgio Vieira’s book, “I Participated, Therefore I Testified” to the National Library of Mozambique.
The central bank hopes the initiative will to contribute to the dissemination and enhancement of the national historical heritage, the work in question constituting a valuable contribution to the understanding of the country’s history.
The book, published by Leya Editores, is to be distributed to public and school libraries across the country. In total, 244 libraries will be covered, including ten provincial public libraries, 49 district public libraries, five municipal libraries and 180 school libraries.
The Bank of Mozambique is also supporting the distribution of a backlog of more than two tons of books from the National Library of Mozambique to libraries across the country
The book, “Participei por Isso Testemunho”, deals with the author’s career as a nationalist and National Liberation Struggle combatant, and as a senior figure who took on several highly responsible roles throughout the history of Mozambique. From the vantage point of his knowledge, the author describes many essential aspects of our history.
The National Library of Mozambique is a public cultural institution mandated for the conservation and preservation of the national documentary heritage, and acts as headquarters of the National Public Library Service, with a view to creating organizational norms and management as well as their technical and methodological supervision.
