The National Cotton Institute of Mozambique will intensify technical assistance to producers in order to double the production of the cash crop seed over the next three months.
The announcement was made in Nampula on Tuesday by the director of the National Cotton Institute of Mozambique, Luís Tomo, at a seminar on cotton seed production.
“What we want is to have enough quality seed for our producers. At the moment, productivity is around five hundred kilograms, so we want to double this through small initiatives aimed at improving productivity over a period of three to four years,” he said.
