The municipality of Nampula woke up this Monday to a day without minibus transport, drivers having withdrawn service on nearly all routes.
Transport operators told Miramar that they decided to cease operating because of the rise in the price of fuel.
Activities would only resume if the price of a ‘chapa’ ride increased in proportion, they said.
Passengers caught off guard formed long queues at bus stops, while others looked for alternative ways to reach their destinations.
