Long lines and relentless waiting are the scenes unfolding at several fuel stations in the city of Nampula. Drivers complain that they have to resort to fuel sold in homes, but the price is much higher.
Many fuel stations have suspended operations since Monday, creating a fuel shortage in Nampula. Buyers report visiting multiple stations, but the few that are still operational have no gasoline.
Some people are seeking fuel to fill their vehicles, while others intend to resell it in their neighborhoods. Jamil Carlos shared that he has been waiting for an hour to be served, but sales were interrupted as they refused to sell to those without their vehicles present at the station.
Caetano Malache is also looking for fuel for his vehicle and says hours have passed since his arrival. “I can’t use my motorcycle. I also use it for work,” he explained.
