Maputo, December 20 — MozYouth participated in the launch of the Legislative Compendium
on the Organization and Functioning of the Youth and Employment Sector, a manual prepared
by the State Secretariat for Youth and Employment (SEJE). The event marked a significant
milestone in consolidating the legal foundations that support youth and promote employment opportunities in the country.
Representing MozYouth Foundation, Vanessa Muteia, Director of Operations, and Nelson Muzila, Project Manager, attended the event. The organization reaffirmed its commitment to following and supporting initiatives that strengthen the rights and opportunities of young people in Mozambique.
During the event, the Secretary of State for Youth and Employment, Oswaldo Petersburgo,
highlighted the journey leading to the creation of the manual. “There are three things that led us to create this work: first was the dream, then the work, and finally the realization. This dream began with a vision—the vision of His Excellency the President of the Republic. By embracing this vision, through daily efforts, we made this work a reality,” he said.
The Venerable Lúcia Muianga was also present at the event and elaborated on the importance and content of the Compendium. According to her, “This compendium, carefully designed with young people in mind, is essential for implementing policies and making decisions that reflect the aspirations of young people and drive sustainable development.”
MozYouth sees this initiative as extremely important, reinforcing support for Mozambican
youth and contributing to the building of a more inclusive and sustainable future. As an
organization dedicated to creating opportunities for young people, MozYouth celebrates every step toward strengthening the sector.
