On the occasion of the International Day of Clean Energies, MozParks is proud to announce that its head office is now entirely powered by solar energy, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Mozambique enjoys an average of 300 sunny days per year, making it an ideal location for renewable energy projects. Through a partnership with Logos Industries, a 15kW solar power system was installed to meet the energy needs of the MozParks head office, with additional capacity for future growth. This collaboration highlights MozParks’ dedication to integrating sustainable energy solutions into its operations.
MozParks General Director, Onorio Manuel, emphasized the significance of this step: “Mozambique has immense potential to lead in renewable energy adoption. By embracing solar energy, MozParks aims to inspire others to harness the power of the sun to build a cleaner, more sustainable future.”
Building on this initiative, MozParks is planning to establish solar power plants in all of its industrial parks, starting with Mozal – Beluluane Industrial Park and Kenmare – Topuito Industrial Park, with others to follow.
This solar energy initiative is also closely aligned with the vision of MozParks’ parent company, ASEZA (African Sustainable Economic Zones Alliance). ASEZA operates the African Green Economy Secretariat (AGES), a platform dedicated to showcasing innovative and impactful green projects across Africa. MozParks’ transition to solar energy reflects the type of leadership ASEZA advocates, highlighting how renewable energy can drive sustainable development.
MozParks remains committed to finding innovative ways to balance economic development with sustainability, encouraging communities and businesses to grow while preserving the environment.
