The Ministry of Health has 177 ventilators for the treatment of Covid-19,d Televisao de Moçambqiue reports today.. According to the Minister of Health, Armindo Tiago, these ventilators are enough to respond to the current reality and context imposed by Covid-19 in Mozambique.
Of the 177 ventilators available, 35 were allocated to the Polana Caniço General Hospital, a health unit dedicated exclusively to the care and hospitalisation of patients at Covid-19 in Maputo city.

This Friday, the Ministry of Health received two more ventilators, offered by Standard Bank.
Speaking at the time, the Minister of Health said that the country has equipment to respond to Covid-19.
“The country has a sufficient number of ventilators to respond to the current reality, taking into account the number of registered cases”, said Armindo Tiago.

In Mozambique, there is a sale and circulation of fake Covid-19 tests. The Minister of Health is still unaware of the source, but assured that the authorities are on the ground to investigate and hold criminals accountable.
“We don’t have the results yet, but an investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the false tests, in the name of the secret of justice, we prefer not to talk about the case, but an investigation is underway,” said Armindo Tiago.
The Republic of South Africa introduced, from this Friday, at the border post of Lebombo, next to Ressano Garcia, rapid tests of Covid-19.

These are affordable tests which may cost, according to Minister Armindo Tiago, between ten to twenty dollars each.
Tiago suggested the possibility of introducing rapid tests in Mozambican territory, depending on the results which will come from the technical team whichwill analyse the process.
Also on Friday, the Ministry of Health received hospital supplies offered by the Adventist Development and Assistance Resources Agency, ADRA.
