The Ministry of Health considers there to be no grounds for the halt of healthcare professionals’ activities and emphasizes that dialogue should remain the means of addressing challenges in the Sector.
In a document sent to our editorial office, the Ministry of Health (MISAU) states that the Association of United and Supportive Healthcare Professionals of Mozambique requests that the institution deduct 1% of the salary from all healthcare professionals (except doctors and dentists), for membership fees, to be channeled to the Association’s bank account.
In response to this concern, MISAU states that any deduction from the employee’s salary, outside of what is provided for in current legislation, requires the employee’s consent, upon presentation of a notarized declaration.
However, the Ministry of Health assures that in the event of a labor stoppage, the continuity of healthcare services to the population is guaranteed.
