The city of Windhoek, capital of Namibia, today hosts the 12th Ordinary Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Zambezi Watercourse Commission.
The Zambezi Watercourse Commission (ZAMCOM) is a multilateral cooperation platform comprising eight riparian states of the Zambezi river basin: Angola, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. ZAMCOM promotes and coordinates the cooperative management and development of the Zambezi watercourse in an equitable, efficient and sustainable manner.
Mozambique will be represented at the meeting by Minister of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources, Fernando Rafael, who will assist in assessing progress in implementing the 2024/2025 Activity Plan and approve the Action Plan for the period 2025/2026, as well as the respective budget for the organisation.
A statement received by Radio Mozambique indicates that the recommendations of the ZAMCOM Technical Committee will be adopted at the meeting.
