Mozambique and Malawi to introduce one-stop border system

The Minister of Transport and Logistics João Jorge Matlombe on Friday visited Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique on Friday to learn about the operations and current status of the national flag carrier, reads a LAM press release.
During the visit, Minister Matlombe met with the LAM management and conveyed a message of encouragement, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to the restructuring of the flag carrier

He also highlighted the importance of modernization and operational efficiency to ensure LAM’s sustainability.
“LAM plays a crucial role in Mozambican aviation, and the Government is committed to supporting its financial and operational recovery,” said the Minister.
The visit was an opportunity for the Minister to hear the company’s concerns and understand its operational challenges. LAM’s management reinforced the need for government support to revitalize the company.
This initiative is part of the Government’s strategy to closely monitor the sector’s institutions and ensure the effective implementation of the reforms proposed by the Government.
