Minister’s message
Dear artists and art and culture makers,
It was with deep regret that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism received, today, January 11, the sad news of the physical disappearance of the producer and entrepreneur Adelson Mourinho, affectionately known as Bang, after a prolonged illness.
We are shocked by this harsh reality. We have lost a man who did a lot to promote Mozambican music. Bang was an unavoidable figure in national entertainment and was notable for creating Bang Entertainment, a company that promoted Mozambican music and organized events across the country.
His willingness to work for music earned him the nickname “The saviour of music”.
In his lifetime, Bang went to great lengths to fulfil his dream of showcasing Mozambican culture.
Due to the warmth with which he embraced music, Mozambique will always take him as a reference, as someone who allowed many artists to shine in his hands
The producer and entrepreneur lost his life at the age of 41, in neighbouring South Africa, where he had been hospitalized since August 2020.
In my personal name, on behalf of the institution’s workers and all the makers of arts and culture, we address our most heartfelt condolences to the family on their loss.
