The forum will address various current issues, such as the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the new challenges for the fishing industry, as well as matters of economic efficiency, social stability, fisheries regulation, competition and main trends in the socio-economic and political aspects of the fishing and aquaculture industries.
The forum will round off with a fish fair, where fishing products, equipment and services will be exhibited. Worldwide business connections are expected to be established.
In addition to participating in the forum, Minister Maíta will hold working meetings with public and private entities with the aim of publicising Mozambique’s potential and attracting Russian investment in the fishing sector, in the form of public-private partnerships.
Mozambique also hopes to expand the export of fishery products to Russia and explore the possibility of establishing cooperation agreements in matters of training, the maritime industry, fish hygiene and health standards, and the biosafety of aquatic animals.
