Mozambique: CTA promotes virtual workshop to discuss proposed Local Content Law

The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Ernesto Max Tonela, will preside over the opening of the 7th Mozambique Mining, Oil & Gas and Energy Conference and Exhibition in Maputo on Wednesday, Noticias reports.
According to a statement, the two-day event is organised by the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy of Mozambique (MIREM) and Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH) under the motto, “Utilizing Natural Resources as the Catalyst for Economic Development and Diversification”.
The agenda shows the first day of the conference focussing on Mozambique’s oil, gas and energy sectors; investment opportunities; the use of natural resources for social and economic growth; and the development of policies and strategies for local content.
Thursday sees a debate on mining activities, current and future; the development of infrastructure for gas in Mozambique; the increase in energy capacity; and the sustainable development of mineral resources.
The conference ‘s 2021 edition has the support of MIREM, ENH, Associação Geológica Mineira de Moçambique (AGMM), and the Confederation of Economic Associations (CTA).
