The 2022 military registration campaign was officially launched today in Chókwè, Gaza province, at a ceremony presided over by Minister of National Defence, Cristóvão Chume.
The ceremony, led by respective Provincial Secretaries of State and involving local authorities, parents and guardians and other stakeholders, will be replicated in all provinces.
Military registration has been taking place throughout the country since the 2nd of January, and is scheduled to last until the 28th of February. The intake covers young people born in 2004, plus those who were unable to register on previous occasions, as long as their age does not exceed 35 years.
Ministry of National Defence spokesman Ilídio Mahilene said yesterday that everything was ready for the ceremony, and that the ministry was prepared to see the process through to the fulfilment of all goals laid down for it.
The Ministry of National Defence has for this year set the number of young people to be registered for military service at 200,000, with 1,664 registration posts, both fixed and mobile, having been set up across all provinces.
