Mozambique: Matola 18-year-old mpox patient ‘showing improvement’ as Maputo province steps up surveillance

Health authorities in Maputo province say that the 18-year-old diagnosed with mpox in Matola is showing improvement.
The 18-year-old, who tested positive for the disease on August 1st, is in home isolation.
According to the director of the Maputo Provincial Health Service, Iolanda Santos, there are eight suspected mpox cases in the province.
Iolanda Santos also announced that surveillance has been increased to contain the spread of mpox.
