Mozambique: Mariano Nhongo was buried in Nhamatanda on Friday – Sala da Paz

The leader of the Renamo Military Junta, killed in combat by the Defence and Security Forces (FDS) ,was buried on Friday in his own residence, in the village of Chirassicua, in the District of Nhamatanda.
The ceremony was attended by some family members and neighbours.
By Thursday the body had not been claimed by the [deceased’s] direct family (children). They said that they were afraid and that they were being persecuted. What is certain is that this Friday the burial of Mariano Nhongo was actually carried out.

Mariano Nhongo foi enterrado hoje em Nhamatanda
O líder da Junta Militar da Renamo, morto em combate pelas Forças de Defesa e Segurança (FDS) foi enterrado hoje (15 de Outubro) na sua própria residência, na localidade de Chirassicua, no Distrito de Nhamatanda.
A cerimónia foi acompanhada por alguns familiares e vizinhos.
Até ontem o corpo não havia sido reclamado pela família directa (filhos). Os mesmos diziam que tinham medo e que estavam a ser perseguidos. O certo é que hoje o enterro do Mariano Nhongo foi mesmo realizado.
