The Maragra Sugar factory in Maputo province will be able to fully resume production in 2026, having recently begun the rehabilitation of areas affected by the floods at the beginning of last year.
“According to information made known so far, the company could have its first campaign in 2026,” Manhiça mayor Alexandre Munguambe told Noticias.
Mayor Munguambe explained that the rehabilitation of dikes to reinforce the protection of sugarcane cultivation fields was underway.
“Maragra is now working on the rehabilitation of the dikes, work without which planting should not be done. The process is going well,” he said.
