Maputo province plans to register around 25,000 young men for military service.
The official start of the conscription process was led in Namaacha last Saturday (11-04) by Provincial Secretary of State for Maputo, Judite Mussácula.
She challenged the youth to enlist for military service, focused on raising the patriotic spirit and motivated by the desire to contribute to strengthening national unity.
Mussácula is also banking on the cooperation of parents and guardians.
“We will contribute to raising awareness among our children, our young people, because the only way we can continue to defend our sovereignty. The first step is this: go to the military registration post to register and be ready to defend our homeland,” she said.
