Mozambique: Mopeia to have irrigation systems powered by national electric grid and solar energy

The new Fruit Terminal at the Port of Maputo, has been authorised by PPECB South African authorities, and is open for business to move
ambient fruit, starting April 2022.
MPFT – Maputo Port Fruit Terminal, SA, a Mozambican private owned company with direct link with the Fruit Industry both in Mozambique and South Africa, owner of the Fruit Terminal, has paved the way towards using Maputo Port as an exit gateway for Southern Africa Fruit Producers.
The Fruit Terminal has a weekly loading capacity up to 300 containers, and presents itself as the perfect solution, for faster and better quality export service for all Fruit Producers.
The first containers were successfully loaded and at sea, and according to the spokesperson Mr. Paulo Barceló, the requests are increasing and considerably higher than initially considered. The company is already planning to increase not only the area available for loading, but the scope of services rendered, starting with introducing cold sterilisation for next year.
