The Maputo Municipal Council decided today to eliminate the fees charged at the city’s morgues and cemeteries.
The measure, announced by the Mayor, Rasaque Manhique, aims to reduce the financial burden on families and ensure that everyone has the right to a dignified burial.
According to Manhique, the costs associated with these services represent a burden for residents, especially those in vulnerable situations, and so they were removed to minimize costs in the event of misfortune.
