The President of Maputo Municipal Council, Rasaque Manhique, on Friday cancelled the award by public tender of contracts to the companies Karam Car and Fire Solutions. According to a note from the city council, the measure was taken for economic and financial reasons.
The tender awarded to Karam Car and published yesterday (13 June) was for the custom painting of an escort vehicle (AHS 770MP), and valued at more than 290,000 meticais, which generated outrage on social media.
As for Fire Solutions, it was to have been paid more than 388,000 meticais for the inspection and recharging of fire extinguishers for municipal and volunteer firefighters.
