The Mozambique Institute of Corporate Governance (IGCmz) will hold its first Corporate Governance Congress on August 14th, under the theme: “The Role of Corporate Governance in the Era of Redesigning Business Models”.
This event aims to identify solutions that will contribute to making the country increasingly attractive to domestic and foreign investment, promoting competitiveness and improving the business environment for companies.
Speaking at a press conference today in Maputo, Daniel Gabriel Tembe, Chairman of the IGCmz Board of Directors, explained that the congress also aims to identify the current status of adoption of good corporate governance practices in companies, as well as the main challenges facing their implementation.
Through the congress, IGCmz and Standard Bank aim to create a platform for exchanging experiences, sharing knowledge, and promoting good corporate governance practices in the country, as well as relaunching literacy on the topic and fostering national reflection on the importance of its adoption as a fundamental instrument for the sustainable and ethical development of organizations.
The event will be attended by just over 300 people, including experts, academics, members of corporate bodies from various companies, among others. Topics such as ‘A Transformative Board of Directors; ‘Stakeholder Management’; ‘The role of Technologies in the Digital Transformation in Companies; ‘Corporate Governance in the Mozambican Context’ will be discussed.
