Mozambique: Maputo council slashes city budget by 37 percent

Maputo Municipal Council plans to reduce its 2016 budget by 37 percent to around 3,973 million meticais in response to the current economic situation in the country.
The decision aims to adjust general provisions, projects and activities in accordance with the disbursement plan and anticipated income for the remainder of the year.
A proposal will be presented to the Municipal Assembly for consideration.
