Mozambique: Chicualacuala's 18 unconnected communities struggle without mobile coverage
On Sunday afternoon, Mozambique’s National Migration Service (Senami) carried out the repatriation of three citizens of Angolan nationality, for illegal stay and use of falsified documents in the country. They are Gerson Emanuel Quintas, better known as “Man-Genas”, his wife, Clemência Suzete Vumi, and their two minor children, Domingo reports.
Known for denouncing the involvement of leaders and police in drug trafficking, Man Genas will respond, in Angola, for the crimes of defamation and slander, O País reports.
Escorted by the Police and agents of the National Migration Service to an Angolan plane, which was waiting at Maputo International Airport – this was the outcome of the case that became known in Mozambique as “Man Genas”.
The citizen who arrived in the national territory in March last year, coming from Angola, where he was fleeing alleged persecution, after having denounced in “lives”on social media the involvement of political figures and police in drug trafficking, was deported this Sunday to Luanda.
The information is confirmed through a statement from the National Migration Service, which states that “SENAMI carried out (…) the administrative expulsion measure applied to three foreign citizens of Angolan nationality for illegally staying in the country. This is the couple Gerson Emanuel Quintas, better known as Man Genas and Clemência Suzete Vumi, who were accompanied by their two minor children”.
Here, the National Migration Service refuses to give details about the factors that led to the expulsion of a citizen who lost protection from the Mozambican authorities.
In Angola, there is already an ongoing case against Man Genas, with accusations of slander and defamation against the authorities of that African country. “There are around four cases against him. The authorities claim that these are crimes of slander, defamation, insulting the Angolan authorities, because in recent months he has been doing live shows, criticizing, accusing everyone of being involved in drug trafficking”, explains the Angolan journalist. José Gama, icited by O País.
Gama adds that Man Genas“ has already arrived in Angola. However, as far as I know, his family still has no contact, they still don’t know his whereabouts. The mother is still making efforts to at least have the children. Because two minors were with him and the woman is also pregnant.”
Whether Man Genas will await trial in prison or a free man remains to be known.
