Algeria, Mozambique target top spot in Group G - In Mambas We Trust!!

Mozambique’s national football team, the Mambas, and coach Chiquinho Conde are on the shortlist of the best in Africa.
The Confederation of African Football(CAF) on Thursday unveiled the list of nominees for the menโs categories for the #CAFAwards24, as anticipation builds for the Awards evening scheduled on 16 December 2024 in Marrakech, Morocco.
The CAF Awards 2024 cover the period between January 2024 and October 2024.

The coaches of the Mozambique national football teams, Chiquinho Conde, and of Angola, Pedro Gonรงalves, are on the list of the 10 best coaches in Africa, from which one will be chosen in December by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Both the Mozambican and the Angolan national football teams are also on the shortlist for ‘National Team of the Year’.
Angola’s Petro Atlรฉtico de Luanda also on the list of the 10 best teams.
The Coach of the Year shortlist also includes Brama Traore (Burkina Faso), Emerse Fae (Ivory Coast), Sebastien Desabre (DR Congo), Josรฉ Gomes (Zamalek), Marcel Koller (Al Ahly), Hugo Broos (South Africa), Florent Ibenge (Al Hilal) and Kwesi Appiah (Sudan).
The shortlist of best teams includes, in addition to Angola and Mozambique, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, DR Congo, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa, Sudan and Uganda.

The top 10 clubs, in addition to Petro, are TP Mazembe (DR Congo), Al Ahly (Egypt), Zamalek (Egypt), Dreams FC (Ghana), RS Berkane (Morocco), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Simba (Tanzania), Young Africans (Tanzania) and Esperance (Tunisia).
None of the players from Portuguese-speaking countries are on the list of the best athletes.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony to be held on December 16 in Marrakesh, Morocco.
