Thursday 22 November is the date proposed by the National Elections Commission for the rerun of the elections in Marromeu, Sofala. This date must be confirmed by the Council of Ministers, and must be before 25 November.
Of 39 polling stations in Marromeu, the poll will only be rerun in 8 polling stations in two schools, where the police and election officials took the ballot papers before counting was completed on the night of 10 October. The new election in these polling stations was called by the Constitutional Council in its ruling yesterday on the municipal elections.
The CNE said today that there would not be any further electoral campaigning, but there will be a civic education campaign in the area of the two schools to tell people they must vote again.
