The exhibition “Little Artists, Big Emotions”, which opened last week, is running until 10 July in the atrium of the BCI Headquarters Building in Maputo.
“Little Artists, Big Emotions” celebrates the power of creative expression of children and highlights the importance of social relationships and family ties.
‘Little Artists, Big Emotions’ opened at the BCI auditorium on June 27, when BCI administrator Raúl Almeida congratulated the young artists, highlighting the importance of cultivating a taste for art from childhood.
The works on display are the result of an event held a year ago at the BCI. In a relaxed and playful environment, with games, singing, dancing, poetry, entertainment and art, the children, accompanied by their parents, gave free rein to their imagination and artistic talent, painting a series of canvases under the guidance of the writer, poet, artist and BCI collaborator, Xavier Ubisse, in the presence of the Minister of the Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries at the time, Lídia Cardoso.
“With a genuine sense of achievement, we reaffirm BCI’s commitment to initiatives that promote cultural and educational development,” Almeida said. “Events of this nature not only celebrate children’s talent and creativity. They also reinforce the role of art as an expression of sensitivity and imagination. Valuing artistic expressions from an early age means allowing children to envision the future in the form of art,” Raúl Almeida added.
The exhibition, which is open to the public and with free admission, reaffirms BCI’s commitment to supporting education, culture and, in particular, the promotion of art.
