The Lichinga cement factory is scheduled to begin operations in August of this year.
Work on the project was interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Chinese-backed investment will produce 250,000 tons of cement annually, plus quantities of clinker.
Raw material for manufacture (limestone, red sand, iron) will be sourced from Niassa province, while the mineral coal will be brought in from Tete.
