Mozambique Airlines (LAM) plans to purchase five aircraft by December, with a view to expanding its fleet to half a dozen of its own aircraft.
The announcement was made yesterday by the new shareholders during a press conference held to report on the progress of the company’s ongoing restructuring process.
According to Agostinho Langa, chairman of the board of directors of Mozambique Railways (CFM), the acquisition of these aircraft will increase LAM’s operational capacity and enable the opening of new regional routes.
