Mozambique Airlines (Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique – LAM), whose management is now supported by consultant Fly Modern Ark ( FMA), is setting up teams in all areas of the state-owned company to work on its restructuring.
“Since April 18, the management of our flag carrier has been supported by an international consulting firm, FMA-Fly Modern Ark,” reads a statement released on Friday by LAM, in line with the announcement made on Tuesday by the Minister of Transport, Mateus Magala.
Friday’s statement goes on to provide more detail, underlining that the objective is to “restructure the company, improving its efficiency”.
“For this purpose, work teams are being set up in different areas in order to bring [in] solutions for decision-making that will add value to the company,” the document reads.
The teams will work “on the development of measures with a focus on cost reduction, stabilisation of operations and increased revenue”, the communique concludes.
